We believe that the Apostle Paul was sent to
us Gentiles [non-Jews] to bring the Salvation to the Body of Christ. Why
Paul?
Paul,
the apostle for the Gentiles
Rom
16:25-27
Now to him that is of power to establish you according to my gospel, and
the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the
mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, But now is
made manifest, and by the Scriptures of the prophets, according to the
commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the
obedience of faith: To God only wise, be
glory through Jesus Christ forever. Amen.
The
Mystery: The Gentiles are fellow heirs!
Eph 3:1-9
For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, If
ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to
you-ward: How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery;
(as I wrote afore in few words, Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand
my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) Which in other ages was not made
known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles
and prophets by the Spirit; That the Gentiles should be fellow heirs,
and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:
Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God
given unto me by the effectual working of his power. Unto me, who am less
than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach
among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; And to make all
men see what
is the fellowship of the mystery,
which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created
all things by Jesus Christ.
Gal
2:7 But
contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision
[Gentiles] was committed unto me, as
the gospel of the
circumcision [Jews] was
unto Peter;
Here is an
important quote from Jesus – who was sent only to the Jews until he was
crucified and the Book on the Gospel of the Kingdom of God, which was
taught by Jesus and his Deciples ONLY to the Jews, was closed.
The new Gospel
of Salvation through Jesus Christ was taught by Paul to the Gentiles and
the Body of Christ was NOT taught by the other Apostles, who were only
sent to teach the Kingdom to the Jews. That Jesus knew this and that the
Bible reports is, is shown by the following quote, which is taken from the
Gospel of Matthew (which is mostly also to the Jews only):
Mat
15:22-28
And,
behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him,
saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou
son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil. But he
answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying,
Send her away; for she crieth after us.
Mat
15:24 But he
answered and said, I
am not
sent but
unto the lost
sheep of
the house
of Israel.
[I was ONLY sent to the lost JEWS of ISRAEL]
Mat
15:25 Then
came she and worshiped him, saying, Lord, help me.
Mat
15:26
But he answered and said, It is
not meet
to take
the children's
bread, and
to cast
it to dogs.
[It is wrong to take what is for
ISRAEL and give it to the Gentiles (the dogs are we Gentiles, because he
was sent to minister to the JEWS)]
Mat
15:27 And
she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from
their masters' table. [She begged to have crumbs of his Grace, even
though she is a Gentile and in his and the Jews eyes not better than a
dog, and she received a miracle of love]
Mat
15:28 Then
Jesus answered and said unto her, O
woman, great
is thy
faith: be
it unto
thee even as
thou wilt.
And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.
Salvation
in accepting Jesus as the savior
Rom
10:9-13
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt
believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt
be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with
the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith,
Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no
difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is
rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name
of the Lord shall be saved.
Jesus and his Apostles
taught The Kingdom of God to the Jews.
Apostle Paul taught the Salvation through Jesus Christ to the Body of
Christ.
Rev. Dr. Alexander Hast
A very close friend of mine for many
years and fellow minister teaches the following about partial evidence for
Paul's Apostleship:
Paul’s
distinctive Apostleship
Those who have difficulty
recognizing the distinctive character of Paul’s Apostleship and message
should consider the following evidence.
Paul’s Phraseology
In the light of Paul’s
phraseology alone we often wonder how anyone could possibly deny that his
message was distinct from that which the twelve had proclaimed. Note the
following examples:
[Rom. 2:16]: “In the day when God shall
judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ, according to MY GOSPEL.”
[Rom. 16:25]: “Now to Him that is of
power to stablish you according to MY GOSPEL, and the preaching of Jesus
Christ according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret
since the world began.”
[2
Tim. 2:7-8]: “Consider what I say; and
the Lord give thee understanding in all things. Remember that Jesus
Christ, of the seed of David, was raised from the dead according to MY
GOSPEL.”
[Gal.
1:11]: “But I certify you, brethren, that THE
GOSPEL which WAS PREACHED OF ME is not after man.”
[Gal. 2:2]: “And I went up (to Jerusalem)
by revelation, and communicated unto them THAT GOSPEL WHICH I PREACH AMONG
THE GENTILES, but privately to them which were of reputation, lest by any
means I should run, or had run, in vain.”
[1
Cor. 15:1]: “Moreover, brethren, I
declare unto you THE GOSPEL WHICH I PREACHED UNTO YOU, which .also ye have
received, and wherein ye stand.”
Paul’s Claims
And too, Paul’s explicitly
Spirit-inspired claims as to the distinctive character of his ministry and
message leave little doubt. Consider a sampling of these:
[Rom. 11:13]: “For I speak to you
Gentiles, inasmuch as I AM THE APOSTLE OF THE GENTILES; I MAGNIFY MINE
OFFICE.” [Cal. 1:11-12]: “But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel
which was preached of me is NOT AFTER MAN. FOR I NEITHER RECEIVED IT OF
MAN, NEITHER WAS I TAUGHT IT, BUT BY THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST.”
[Eph. 3:1-3]: “For this cause, I PAUL,
THE PRISONER OF JESUS CHRIST FOR YOU GENTILES, If ye have heard of THE
DISPENSATION OF THE GRACE OF GOD, WHICH IS GIVEN ME TO YOU-WARD: How that
BY REVELATION HE MADE KNOWN UNTO ME THE MYSTERY.”
[Col. 1:25]: “I am made a minister,
according to THE DISPENSATION OF GOD WHICH IS GIVEN TO ME FOR YOU, to
fu11fi1 (fill, full, or complete) the Word of God.”
[1
Tim. 2:5-7]: “For there is one God, and
one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus; Who gave Himself a
ransom for all, TO BE TESTIFIED IN DUE TIME. WHEREUNTO I AM ORDAINED A
PREACHER, AND AN APOSTLE (I SPEAK THE TRUTH IN CHRIST, AND LIE NOT); A
TEACHER OF THE GENTILES IN FAITH AND VERITY.”
[Tit. 1:2-3]: “In hope of eternal life,
which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; But hath in
due times manifested His Word THROUGH PREACHING WHICH IS COMMITTED UNTO
ME, according to the commandment of God our Savior.”
